Every element was made by hand in Christine’s Somerset studio. The glass was selected for colour and character, then cut, shaped and assembled using traditional stained glass methods. Hand-painted details add expression and depth before the work is fired and completed.
Small variations in handmade glass are part of its appeal. Bubbles, ripples and changes in density catch the light in ways that cannot be reproduced by mass manufacture. These natural qualities give the panel movement and help create its windswept, otherworldly atmosphere.
